Anyone know of an mp4 converter?

Okay, I know quicktime plays mp4's (or AAC audio or whatever.) But what program can convert files to Mp4's (or AAC audio or whatever)? I need to get the music files for my game compressed, but I don't wanna lose quality.

you can use quicktime for converting audio files to .mp4 audio files. i don't know if it's a feature of the free quicktime player, though. at least QT Pro does the job. just open your source file, select File/Export and choose the appropriate option...

*Sigh* I checked and can't do it in the regular quicktime. I had the pro version of quicktime 5, but of course the serial number is worthless now. Does anyone know of any freeware that can do this?

If you're talking about the QuickTime 6 version of MPEG-4 then you have to use QuickTime Pro 6. There are other codecs that call themselves MPEG-4, and they may have a legitimate claim to it, but they're incompatible with Apple's version of MPEG-4.

I don't know who's to blame here, but MPEG-4 is about as specific a term as "Xerox machine."
