anyone know why configure would do the following ?

checking for intltool >= 0.25... 0.30 found
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
configure: error: XML:arser perl module is required for intltool

Any ideas why this is taking a dive ??

You don't have the XML parser perl module.
