ThinkSecret.com is reporting that, once again, rumors about Apple releasing rackmount servers are again resurfacing.
This would be really cool if true. If Apple does this, hopefully people will start seeing Apple as a total alternative to Windows. Awesome client hardware, awesome client OS, awesome server OS, awesome client software all we need is awesome server hardware (current servers leave something to be desired). Let's hope Apple will provide that.
During April, however, three separate sources -- all from the retail/distribution channel, of all places -- said that the company was on the verge of announcing rackmount G4 servers, possibly even as soon as the Worldwide Developers Conference this month. Just a rumor circulating the channel? That's a strong possibility, but its presence is interesting at the least.
