Apple Retail Franchises

Hey Grill-goers,

Anybody know if Apple plans to make their retail stores a franchise oppportunity? I have dreams of spending my days surrounded by apples and those who love them.

Either that or owning a bar...

I HIGHLY doubt it. In fact, I think you're out of luck – Apple wants to maintain quality and the only way to make sure of that is to do it themselves.
 
LISTEN UP APPLE!!!

i live in a town FULL OF WINDOWS MACHINES (well, there's like 5% of the community that actually uses Macs) that has over 150,000 people go through a day... over 50,000 people go to the mall every day (almost 50% more during the holiday!)

we generate so much money in this little town that our schools cannot be state funded, therefore we cannot build new schools to replace the ones that are falling down (we had to demolish one because it was nearing 100 years old.... and it was used until last year)

we are the largest shopping area between Columbus, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

noone compares to us!

please build an apple store here!

90% of your buyers would be new to the mac community of only there was some force here to tell them straight from all their mac-myths!

And after you build one at BlingBling's place, how about a store north of Baltimore? You'd catch all the wonderful folks in and around Baltimore (colleges, colleges, everywhere), plus many people from Harrisburg, PA and all sorts of folks in between. And maybe even some from Philly.
 
I'd like to see one go in Peoria Illinois, those poor suckers there lost the only apple retailer they had over a year ago.

Also... when is the Apple store in Chicago (not Woodfield... the one downtown!) going to open, jeesh!
