Apple Wants to Embed Motion Sensors in Your Keyboard

The latest Apple patent has surfaced, and it appears they like the idea of sticking motion sensors in a keyboard so that users can navigate their way through OS X without a separate mouse/trackpad.
The patent calls for a keyboard with four "slot cameras" around the perimiter of the keyboard, tracking all finger movements. The keys themselves would more or less be the same. As for how these sensors would be used, here's what MacRumors said:
The motion-sensitive area is implemented in this design with four "slot cameras" around the perimeter of the keyboard. These cameras are be able to track the user's finger movements immediately above the keyboard to provide the usual mouse or trackpad functions of cursor tracking and window scrolling.

Also in the patent is mention of a key that would toggle between mouse mode and keyboard mode, presumably to avoid any accidental input. If this were actually made, would you give up your mouse/trackpad entirely? – via Gizmodo
