I am buying a Maxtor 250GB drive soon, but am wondering wether I can use it in the Xserve G5, I see on the tech specs page it mentions One drive bay with 80GB Serial ATA Apple Drive Module, would I be able to use my Maxtor ATA 250GB in this??
As i understand it, they are standard S-ATA drives in a proprietary drawer. I would suggest something more like buying an xserve with a 250gb (or 400 gb) drive, and then adding a 74 (or 72) gb WD 10000RPM Raptor drive for the system/apps.
