before we contact applecare we wondered if anyone has had experience with applecare maybe they can give us some ideas. last june we bought our son a macbook pro to take to med school. we bought it with the applecare as we have with all our apple purchases. it had several trips back to apple to replace defective drives and then the logic board. it was finally working great when the strap on his laptop case came loose and the corner of the mbp came into contact with an object. it left an obvious ripple in the bottom case near the back corner. this case is made of thin metal and the effected area is around the two jack holes near the back on the opposite side from the power connector. the computer has worked fine since that happened a month ago. we are just concern that if something goes wrong with the computer it won't be covered by applecare. since it is still under the original one yr warranty is there something we can do to established its current status or cancel the applecare if it won't cover it anymore?
