AppleScript-I'm A Weenie!

Howdy,
I just got interested in AppleScript (due to classified reasons :p ) so I was wondering if somebody could do me one of two things, or if their feeling experianced due both:

1) Tell me the code to make the finder empty the trash when the script is run.

2) Tell me where I can find A LOT of help and sample codes for AppleScript.

There's an iTunes script that involves emptying the trash. I think it's the one about Delete Selected Track Files. Check the iTunes Scripts collection on the Apple site.
