sorry...didnt know where to post this...but was wondering if i have a applescript code for a folder action on my mac...is there any way to convert this to a PC usable folder action (if there even is a folder action for XP)

No there isn't. Microsofts closest option is called a Batch file which is like their version of apple scripts. As far as folder options are concerned, a batch file will only run when you double click it, so in other words, it won't launch automatically.

However, the upside of windows is the amount of software developed for it. I'm sure theres a program out there that can do it for you

Assuming only one of the many possible ways to interpret the original post ...

'If one has a PC running Windows XP, can a Folder Action script be assigned to it, and a networked Mac receive the notification of the assigned folder action?' - Yes.

Windows does not have, nor supports, AppleScript - and thus does not support Folder Actions.

When a 'Folder Action' is assigned to a folder, of a PC running Windows, the Folder Action actually resides on the networked Mac.
