Applications automatically hide

Could be a stupid question - but my apps keep hiding everytime I go to another app. Desktop folders also hide and i only see the current application. Any ideas where to reset this to show all, all the time.

I recently installed transparent dock and it seemed to happen after that - could this be the problem?

OSX 10.2.5
 
Could be. This should only happen if you hold down Option when switching applications. Try uninstalling TD (move it to a non-System folder) and see what happens.
