Having a bit of an issue right now following my MacBook Pro's security update to 2008-008. First, it sent my computer into the unending reboot (it sat at the gray screen for half an hour before I shut it off). When I restarted, it booted up normally except for the fact that several of my applications now quit unexpectedly including iTunes, iCal, and (perhaps most inconveniently) Installer. I've seen other people say that I have to repair permissions and I did that, but nothing changed. The next step that was recommended was booting up in safe mode with the install disk and repairing permissions from there, but I don't have my install disk handy anymore. Are there any other solutions you guys can think about?
