Are the G4 processors history?

I saw that the G4 1.25ghz Power Macs prices are reduced. The 1.0ghz is gone and so is the 1.42ghz. This leads me to believe that Apple is reducing their stock on the G4's. Are the G5's going to replace the G4's in the iMacs and PowerBooks? Or, will Apple replenish their stock on G4's and put them in the iBook and continue to use them in the iMac?

Whats everybody's take? I, for one, would love to see the G5 power the iMac. I think the Power Mac G5 entry price is too high while the dual processor is the right price. Apple needs more horsepower on the lower end. And they really need a low end Power Mac for around $1000 running a G5.

I read a quote somewhere from an Apple official stating that Apple is still very much commited to the G4. Motorola is throwing more coal into the fire in hopes to speed up production of the new updated G4 CPU, the 7457(?), die shrink, SOI, speed bump, etc.
