Asante Fast590 problem

I have a G$-400 running OS X.1.1 and a DSL connection with a static IP. I want to use gNat to connect my internal network to the public network so all of the computer can surf.

yes I know that I can set this up using only the built in ethernet port and that is what I have done but this isn't the most secure method so I wanted the internal computers to access the net through a second interface.

I installed an Asante Fast590 card and then installed the drivers. When I reboot not only does the card not show up when I do and ifconfig but my PPPoE connection will no longer establish a connection. I'm not running a firewall.

Not quite sure, but is the prob hardware or software? in other words, if you remove the extra ethernet card, does the built in one begin to work again?
 
When I remove the car PPPoE is still disabled it is only when I remove the Asante.kext file does it begin to work again.
