Sorry, but I lost my manual for my DP 1 GHZ silver face/doors. Am I on drugs or do two of the four drive bays only accept ATA 66 drives? If yes, are they easy to get these days? MacMall sent me a drive they told me was an ATA 66, but it was actually an ATA 100. Gee, you would think their highly paid an trained experts would be more careful. I used it in the extra ATA 100 bay, but want to add more drives.

Yes, you are correct! It accepts 2x100 and 2x66 hard disks...

ATA100 works with ATA66 connectors just fine! Connect your new ATA100 hard disk and do your stuff ;)

Don't worry! Just do it!

:D

Yep, hulkaros is right - All ATA133 and ATA100 drives are completely backwards compatible with ATA66 and ATA5 - they just run at the ATA66 speed.

Thanks to both of you!

Now, on to my quest to store forever every meaningless piece of data that ever crossed my path!
