Has anyone experienced a significant delay (around 1 second) for wireless audio input on the Mac? This is very frustrating.
I get it whether I use Bluetooth wireless headset or something like the ClearChat PC 2.4 ghz wireless. Audio going to the headset is fine, but audio going from the headset to the computer (input) is significantly delayed.
I can literally say a word and then be done with that word completely and it shows up on the input meter in System Preferences. For example, I can say, One One" quickly and after I'm done saying it, then you see the audio meter go up twice for each one.
iMac Dual Core 2.8, 10.5.
Anyone else had experience like this? This really screws up VOIP. It's bad enough with delays in VOIP and say, someone on a mobile phone, but then add a full second to that and you have people talking over each other or really long pauses between transitions.
At first I thought it was VOIP, but then when I noticed the delay in System Preference (Sound) on the audio meter, I realized what I was dealing with. Then I thought, its Clearchat PC Wireless with the delay, then I tried a bluetooth jawbone and the same thing.
So, either both are flawed (two different wireless technologies) or something else it at play. I haven't had a chance to try it on another Mac. I should probably do that before posting, but figured I'd open up the table to see if anyone else had any such experience.
I should also add that wired input USB or direct audio input work fine, same with internal microphone.
