I was wonder how i could get all 48 channels from a Audio PA Mixer to my Powermac G5 using logic pro each in its own individual track. What equipment do i know or would be good to use doing this? Thank You for your help.

are there already recordings on 48 seperate tracks that you want to edit, or do you want to use a 48 channel mixer as hardware with logic pro?

it would be used as a midi controller, if it has that functionality. you would need a sound card with dedicated midi in/out connectors. the knobs and sliders would then just be like glorified joysticks, and you would assign a function to each one. there may be even drivers for it that would pre-assign each one a function, but i don't know. check with the documentation of the mixer to see if it has midi-controller capabilities.

This has nothing to do with midi. If I read you correctly you need to input 48 channels of audio simultaneously. I would look at the MOTU audio interfaces. They make one called the 24 i/o that does 24 channels. You would need two of them. You would get the "core system" which is one 24 i/o with a PCI card. The card has connections for up to four interfaces so you would then need a second 24 i/o "expander" (the interface without the PCI card). HTH.
