Hello All

I have some videos of my nieces and nephews from my old (dead) Sony digital camera, recorded in indeo5 format. Can't find a way to play them on OSX. I've played them in Linux with xanim and mplayer (using the xanim DLLs). Are there any apps that will read/play/convert Indeo5 on OSX?

Thanks - JB

Currently there is no Indeo Video plugin for the Mac OSX version of Quicktime.
HOWEVER I understand that if you have Classic installed, you can put the old OS9 Indeo plug-in for Quicktime into your Classic Quicktime setup, and play the videos with the Classic version of Quicktime. If you don't have Classic installed, you are out of luck I believe.

Hmm. Well, I paid to register QT and that got me nothing as far as Indeo is concerned. A little googling showed me that Indeo5 is available for OS9 but not OSX.... Do I need to pay for yet another QT upgrade for Classic to view these videos? WIll QT under OS9 allow me to export them in another format?

Perhaps I should just try and convert them on my Linux box....

Is the "QT 6 MPEG-2 Playback - Mac OS 9 " upgrade in the Apple store the one I want to play Indeo5?

Damn Sony!!!!!

You shouldn't have needed to pay for anything. He just meant download the Indeo5 QT plug in for the OS 9 version of Quicktime. You shouldn't need to pay anything for that.
