Backing up itunes?

How can i backup my itunes playlists etc to another mac? is it just a prefs file?

Do you want to back up the actual mp3s or just the playlist info?

I think the iTunes Music Library contains all the playlist info. ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library

Could be wrong though.

Backup this file;

user>name>music>itunes

in there you should have

iTunes 3 Music Library (file)

iTunes Music (folder incl. your music)

iTunes Music Library.xml

my music is in another partition so i guess i would have to back up the partition

be sure to get library xml file, i left it, reformatted it and it was a lot harder to get back. I lost playlists and had to re import my gigs of mp3's!
