Backing up my Email

I'm using the Mail.app that comes with Panther. Recently, I've installed Java 1.4.2 Dp2 which somehow made a number of my own apps not work and I need to reinstall Panther. That's the only way to remove the beta.

I can back up all my documents, but I'm having trouble backing up my email/mailboxes. How do I do that?

Your mailboxes are in home>Library>Mail

So.... I just copy the entire directory of my /Users/Viro/Library/Mail and bring that to the new system?

Use Carbon Copy Cloner just to make sure you have 'everything'.

You can back up _everything_, but if you're just wanting to back up you mail, then do the above plus, make a copy of: /Users/Viro/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist

This will make sure that your preferences are preserved, also...
