Hi.
Can anyone advise me about this? I want to create a long-term alternative power supply for my desktop imac (G4). I have an 8D 12-volt commercial battery and a Xantrex 1000 inverter, which produces a "modified sine wave" (with the disclaimer that it is not a pure sine wave), with 1000 watts output. I've used it with lights and small appliances, no problem. I would like to try it with the computer, but am wary of damaging either the computer or the UPS. I plan to use an "APC" brand UPS device between that power supply and the imac. Has anyone tried this, or do you foresee problems? Thanks so much. Literally, yours in the dark,
Dan
