Bad iPod behavior, 10.2.8 related?

My iPod has developed an annoying trait. I use smart playlists, specifically ones that have the last date played as part of the list. I could play a playlist on my iPod and then when I got back to my desktop sync and the playlist would be updated based on what had been played on the iPod.

It no longer works. My iPod does not seem to communicate what it has played to iTunes. The only thing that I can think of that has changed is that I updated to 10.2.8, but I can't think of why this would break this aspect.

The iPod is a 10g wheel running 1.3 software. Anyone else have this problem?

Haven't any problems with any aspect of 10.2.8 (knock on wood). Have you repaired permissions? And have you checked to see that the date/time on the iPod is correct and in sync with your Mac? That could be what's causing it.

That fixed it. The power went out and the desktop thought it was Jan 1, 1970. When I synced the iPod it too suddenly thought it was 1970 (they must have been feeling very ahead of their times). I guess since the songs wouldn't be played for another 33 years it felt no need to update the playlists. Now that I fixed that things are working again. Thanks.
