Battery Issues

I have two batteries for my iBook, and I routinely alternate them. Recently, both of them are acting oddly and giving me problems. One of them lasts only a few minutes, and goes immediately from 0% to 100%. The other charges all the way, and loses and gains power at a normal rate, but when it gets down to a certain percentage, the computer shuts down, and I cannot get it to turn back on unless I plug in the cord. When I check the battery, it says there is still plenty of power left - I just can't use it.

Can anyone tell me how to et my batteries back to normal?

What does system profiler report for the cycle count for these batteries?
Have you ever recalibrated these batteries?
 
I have recalibrated both batteries many times, and both of them lately. For the one that has barely any charge, the cycle count is 567. For the one that turns off at a certain power level, it is 583.
