Belkin Wireless Pre-N router and Macintosh G4/OSX/Tiger 10.4.3

I have not been able to set Belkin Wireless Pre-N router to recognize my network through AppleTalk. Every time that I set the router as an Access Point device it changes the connection and its IP address which disconnects the router from the internet. Is this router able to connect to other Macs through AppleTalk? And if so, how do I set the router?
