Best in-ear iPod earphones for runners?

Can someone recommend an in-ear ear phone for running? Yes I know that many of these can be dangerous if they block out too much sound. My plan is to simply to use one earphone when I am in a busy area. Does anyone recommend the Sony EX71? I am particularly looking for one (or an accessory) that can wrap up the extra cord to avoid tangling. Thanks!
 
Why would it be dangerous? Do deaf people worry about not being able to hear what's around them when they go running?
