I've installed a looping video in an art gallery using the best way I know how. As a login item, Automator app launches full-screen looping quicktime at startup. Start up and shut down are scheduled in Energy Saver.
The problem I have is that often, when the computer starts up as scheduled and the video launches, the mouse arrow is sitting in the corner of the screen and does not disappear. To make it go away, I have to turn on the bluetooth mouse I have the mac mini paired with and just move the mouse a little, then it disappears after a few seconds. I can't be doing this every single day, so I'm hoping you have an idea as to another way to play a looping video at startup or a fix for this quicktime method.
Also, quicktime will sometimes crash or pop out of full-screen mode unexpectedly, leading me to think it might not be the best app for this.
