Bind a key to mouse ?

I'm looking for a way to bind the 'a' key to a side button on my mouse to help with gaming efficiency. I was wondering if anyone knows how this can be accomplished in OS X?

i think only if the mouse came with button binding software. my ms mouse did, and so i have a button bound to expose all windows for quick app switching. other than that, there is usb overdrive which you could try.
