Hi I'm running a G5 dual 2.0, 2gigs/ram, 20 cinama screen (pin-striped clear plastic model), Radeon 9600 vid card.
This refurbished G5 directly from Apple (.com purchase)
, bought about 2 years ago had this same problem 10 months after I purchased it. I took it into CompUsa, they didn't wanna touch it and said it would have to directly go back to Apple. When it was returned back to CompUsa for pick-up they stated it the "logic board" had to be replaced.
Note:
<> I have checked the monitor with my rock solid G4 (dual 450 tower)
<> And @ random times will start up, with a minute running completely functional (login to desktop)
<> Managed to switch start up disc to the 2nd hard drive a Raptor with a "clean" OSX (tiger) system installed...dead screen in about the same time, one minute or so.
<> Managed again to switch start up disc to my Disk Warrior (latest version),,,dead screen from the get.
I know you heard this alot, hear's one more time and I can assure you it's with respect & gratitude... "Help!!!"
