Blocking un-userfriendly mac automations

Hello,

Every time I connect my digital camera, or insert a DVD, Mac decides to launch iPhoto or iDVD.

I do not want the mac to do this. Every time I insert media I have to tell mac that NO I do not want iPhoto, or NO I do not want iDVD.

How can I tell the mac this once and for all?

Also open Image Capture (in /Applications) and in its preferences tell it what you want the system to do when you plug in your camera: You can tell it to open any specific application you want, or "do nothing."
