Blue And White G3 To G4 With Jaguar?

HEY.
MY FIEND JUST GOT A POWERMAC G3 BLUE AND WHITE FOR $350.
HE WANTS TO KNOW IF HE BOUGHT THE G4 UPGRADE CHIP FROM WWW.POWERLOGIX.COM AND GOT OS 10.2 JAGUAR IF IT WOULD WORK BECAUSE ON APPLE'S SITE IT SAYS THAT OSX DOES NOT WORK WITH UPGRADE CHIPS.
ALSO IS POWERLOGIX GOOD OR IS THERE A BETTER BRAND TO CONSIDER.

This has been the case since March of 2001 when OS X was originally released, and it is also the case with Jaguar. We do not expect any compatibility issues with Jaguar while using any of our products that are compatible with the Apple supported machines (Beige PowerMac G3s and newer), just like there are no issues with those machines with the current revision of Mac OS X (10.1.5).
