When I bootup my MacBookPro (MBP) while connected to an external monitor, my mbp screen goes blue.
I use my mbp with an external monitor in extended desktop mode. While connected to the external monitor (external monitor is on) I push the on button. Mbp Grey screen logo appears with the icon "in progress" and then it goes to the solid blue screen and is stuck there.
It never gets to the logon screen (username/password).
I have to force the shutdown by press/hold the on/off button.
I can repeat this problem any time as long as the external monitor is connected.
Once I diconnect the external monitor the boot up is fine.
This problem started after I upgraded to Lion OS.
I connect to the external monitor using mbp adapter to HDMI.
My MBP is about 10 months old.
I have the latest Lion OS. All Mac software is upto date.
