Blue screen on macbook after logon

Hi,

I have a macbook with tiger software. I used it recently and the internet and itunes were intermittently freezing. I shut the computer down and when i tried to turn it on again, it gets to the logon stage, recognises my logon, but then it goes to the blue screen and nothing happens.

I have tried various things, including logging on in safe mode, accessing disc utilities and repairing my disc (which it said had no problems), repairing the PRAM and none of these have worked.

DO you have any ideas?

Many thanks

Nick

Couple of things:

  • 1. Can you give us all your machine details--what Macbook, Processor, RAM, Hard drive, shoe size
    2. I assume you accessed Disk Utility from your Installation Disk?
    3. Do you back your data up on an External HD?

Let us know. In the meantime, if #3 does not apply to you, you will want to correct that. Get one. Various programs will allow you to automatically back up your data. This will make your life easier in the future.

Also, check out on this site how to run the Hardware Tests from the Installation Disk which may narrow things down.
