Bluetooth Dongle on Mac Mini

Hi folks,
I am new to the forum, having recently bought an Intel based Mac Mini to use as a Media Center.

The machine is great, however, I have my Mini in a separate room at home and I want to control it via the bluetooth keyboard and mouse from my living room. The range for both these peripheral, is too short and I cannot use either the KB or mouse.

So I risked buying a LM Technologies Bluetooth Dongle with a claimed range of 250m in the hope that I could 'extend' the bluetooth range. http://www.usbtech.co.uk/catalog/pr...d/165?osCsid=5a10bc1171d714e316dc87ffba0ae632

The reviews claim that the dongle works with Mac OS.

I disabled the BT that comes with the Mini and and ried plugging the dongle I bought; with no luck.

I tried the dongle on a Windows based laptop and it worked. So the dongle is functional - just not the Mac Mini :(

Has anyone tried this combination? Can any one help me / point me to a viable solution? I do not want to take the Mini apart, as this will invalidate my warranty.

Thanks for your help.
