We have an Early 2006 model 20" iMac. On most occasions it doesn't get to the apple logo when booting. The machine is still booting as we can feel the HD moving, however there is nothing on the screen. If I boot the mac by pressing in the pwr button for 10 seconds so that it boots in 'maintenance' mode (power light blinks rapidly and mac makes a loud tone) it will boot and you can use as normal.
The screen itself is darker at the bottom, therefore I think we have an issue there, however I just wanted to know why it wont boot up normally.
