...a Cocoa app that creates a disk image that can be used to burn a Mac OS X boot CD with a working Finder and Dock on it. This utility is unfinished and still has some flaws, but works. The current version works much better than previous versions, and includes the ability to run Drive10 and other utilities, although Norton does not yet work from the CD.
Network file systems and protocols

Booted from my own BootCD-produced CD, with Mac OS X 10.3.8, I can connect via both AFP and SMB.

I see no reason why NFS mount should not work as well, although doing so may require some forethought (NetInfoManager or NFS Manager <http://www.bresink.de/osx/NFSManager.html/> to edit the mounts record) before the BootCD production.

Application compatibility

For me, the following applications launch:
  • BatChmod
  • Console
  • Disk Utility
  • DiskWarrior 3.0.2
  • Drive 10 1.1.5
  • Finder
  • NetInfo Manager
  • Network Utility
  • Preview
  • PsyncX
  • RsyncX
  • Safari
  • SpeedTools Utilities
  • SubEthaEdit
  • System Preferences
  • TechTool Pro 4.0.3
  • Terminal
  • TextEdit

The following applications will not launch:
  • Activity Monitor
  • Calculator
The fact that an application launches does not necessarily mean that it will function perfectly.

YMMV
