Hello all. I have a G4 MDD dual processor 1.25 ghz with ddr bought in june 2003. I was wondering if it was possible to boot from the firewire 800 port via fw800 hard drive with proper operating system files etc.

It seems as though I've read and have found something saying about B&W g3's and pci g4's? I'm not really sure what the heck a pci g4 would be unless it was a precurser to the standard of agp graphics cards.

Thanks in advance.

That's exactly what they are. The original G4 used a PCI graphics card instead of one with AGP.

As for your original question, if the hard drive is bootable, then it should work with no trouble. Just be sure to upgrade to 10.3.1 if you're using Panther.
