"Broken Firewire Phy" in 10.1.3 + 10.1.4

I have a big problem, ever since i updated to 10.1.3. My firewire bus is missing when i check apple sys. profiler. I cannot use my firewire burner anymore. When I fsck the machine at startup ( g4 400, 576 mb ram ), it
says: "broken firewire phy". Anyone know what that mean ??? I never had a problem with the firewire bus before, but now it's altogether missing !!!!!
And updating to 10.1.4. didn't help...
 
If you boot into OS 9, can the System profiler see the firewire bus? If not, you may have a bad Firewire controller. Try booting from the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with your Mac, and run a full diagnostic.
