I dropped my aluminum powerbook and destroyed the lcd. After getting a dvi to vga adapter my desktop in in extended mode. I cant get to my dock to change the settings. Is there a quick key command to change the display to mirrored so that i can use my powerbook again til I replace the lcd?

your F7 command advice to mirror displays simply saved my life here is the story I am a musician the complete orchestra is my lap top this was thrown by accident from the bottom of the stage to flor more than 15 ft distance amazingly the computer starts up and boots correctly BUT BUT o my god the display is broke then i take my iphone to search on the internet how i could mirror displays and voila you came in to the story since I was able to connect a second monitor to this PowerBook G4 and believe me more than two thousand people where waiting for this show to start and me from my drum set.

GOD BLESS YOU !!

Not knowing about the F7 trick, I always simply connected an external keyboard and mouse and shut the lid close right after powering up the machine. Alternatively, you could let the machine sleep by closing the lid and wake up the machine with the external keyboard. Both ways, the external display is the only display the computer "sees".
