David Coursey of ZDNet advocates buying a mac for xmas.

and he adds a new term to our vocabulary - "adders". Adders are pc users who don't really switch, they just add a mac to their computer collection.

That's neat! I'm glad David was able to get past his bias of Macs and Apple to try one, and admit that it was a nice addition next to his PC.

I've been reading the posts for the last half hour now and I must say they have me cracking up! I should be studying for my Infectious Disease exam on Wed., but I can't pull myself away from the posts...it's like watching a train wreck :p

It's funny to see how Mr. Coursey's view of macs has changed since he first started his trial of them a few articles ago. This serves as almost an advertisement for the quality of Apple products...
 
I just brought the Dual 867Mhz Power Mac... Vroom... With the 1gig of Memory I added to it... I've been a PC user for 12 years... I am glad I made the switch... Even though I am getting use to how OS X works... It's still way better than old XP...
 
Sirtovin - welcome to the fun side of computing. that's not to say we don't have our occassional frustrations as well, but there is something about a mac and osx that is an overall enjoyable experience. with that setup you should do just fine for quite some time. i suggest you browse our other forums as there is lots of good advice about learning to use os x and about how to fix some of the common 'problems'. if you don't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask. :)
 
oh, and MacLuv and Bobb - if you could share some of whatever you're on with me, i'd appreciate it :D

(or at least put me on this ipod list as well :p )

My family is getting two Macs this Christmas - my Dad is getting my Mom a powerbook, and my Mom is getting my sister an iMac.

Of course, I get to set everything up...
