Can Any1 help Me? ... ADSL Help !

Hey Guys! I KNOW its not really Mac Related, but u Guys Are Probably my Best Bet, of Getting some Help! ;)

So PLZ Twyg, let this Thread Stay! ;)
...In exchange For Your Help, i will try my DAMNED hardest to type in an appropiate Manner! ;)
OK, So i Got Confirmation today, that BT had Connect my ADSL. So in theory, i should be able to connect. Now, i did not purchase the modem Pipex, my ISP Offer. This is Because i already own an internal PCI Modem (Zoom 5505), and didn't wish to spend an EXTRA £110 for the Alcatel External Modem.
Now, Pipex Offer the following Setup guide, via a PDF, which guides you through creating a Dial Up Connection.
Here's a Link to the Windows Setup Guide

Now, i created the Necessary Dial up Link, Pictured below, and i also went back through the Wizard, and selected an "always on DSL Connection" rather than Dial Up, as Pipex Suggest. but this Connection Seems Not to do ANYTHING! ... i will include As Much Information as i can, regarding my Hardware Settings, and Forth.
When Installing the Drivers, i get this configuration Window ...

Protocol.jpg

Pipex, on this Page ... ( http://www.xtreme.pipex.net/adsl/support/install/settings.shtml )

Offer the Following Information.

VPI (Virtual Path Identifier) 0
VCI (Virtual Circuit Identifier) 38
Framing VC/MUX
Mode ITU G.dmt
Protocol PPPoA
IP Address supplied by DHCP server
Host Not Required
Dialup Number Enter any arbitrary number. For Fujitsu or Westell modems, please enter 0,38.

If there is anymore info which i necesary in helping me, please let me know, because i Really NEED to get off Dialup.
thanks a lot for your time,

Neyo

You need an ADSL modem. A plain dial-up modem will not work. Also, something is completely weird about that setup thing. How do those windoze guys manage to make it as complicated?
At least, if you're using PPPoE for your ADSL connection, the IP will be supplied by a PPP server, not a DHCP server. You also have to enter your username (like username@isp.com) and password for authentication somewhere.

Yeah, that Modem is an ADSL Internal PCI Modem! Once Installed, its called "Lucent Wildwire DSL/WAN Adapter (ID=04C2)"

Does that Help at all?

From the Pipex Information and all, that i gave, can u give any settings, which may work?!

Please see if you can help, it'd be MUCH Appreciated! ;)

Well if you will stop using 'u' for 'you', I will try and help. ;-)

Not sure how it will work with an internal DSL modem, if that's what you have, but for ease of use as well as security, I would highly recommend a NAT router between the line and your computer. I have an SMC Barricade and it's awesome. It connects everything for you.

Hope this helps.
