Can I boot my TiBook from an external drive?

lurk

Mitä?
Howdy,

Well it looks like I need to have both 10.2 and 10.1.5 on my TiBook for development purposes. Some of our expencive software does not work on 10.2 and yadda yadda yadda. So my question is would it be possible to just buy an external firewire disk and boot from that in those cases when I need to change OSes? I could repartition this box but that is not too appealing since the drive is already 60% full and I fear that I will run outta space with all the duplication that will be required.

Thanks a bunch!

Yes you can! Cool, huh? I keep OS 9 on my iPod and whenever I absolutely have to run OS 9 I just plug it in and can boot off of it. I've also done it from regular firewire harddrives.

Of course, running an OS off an iPod isn't supposed to be a very good idea generally (or so I've heard) and isn't supported by Apple, but any regular firewire harddrive wouldn't be a problem.
