Can I?

I don't think so, but I have to ask :)

I have a G4/864 Quicksilver and a G3 PB Bronze connected on the same network. I do most of my work from my PB though as I can have it in the bed or sofa :)

Is there a way that I can use the power/CPU from the G4 in the PB in some cluster strange way or something?

Then I don't have to spend money on a new PB as I can't afford that :(

With xGrid, you can send "tasks" to the PB from the G4. Nevertheless it is not the same as having a faster CPU or more RAM. I don't know how many applications are able to use it.

I thought that xgrid worked in the background though - and the tasks were automatically sent. Isn't it like that screensaver "Folding at Home" that uses your computer when it goes to sleep to find aliens or something?
