Can RAM from Dell work on my Mac?

I want to add 1GB of RAM to my powerbook G4, 1.67 GHz.

It is currently running on DDR2 PC2-4200S-444 (1GB) so the other slot is empty.

Someone locally happens to be selling "a set of matching 1GB PC2-4200 (DDR2-533) SODIMM RAM, pulled from a working Dell Inspiron 640".

Would they work on my powerbook? Or coming from PC, they are not going to?

Thanks for your help!

Looking up both computers on Crucial, it seems that they use the same memory, so it might work, but Apple computers tend to be more picky about generic RAM.

I gave it a go - so far so good. Turns out that the maker of ram was exactly the same (hynix). The only 'funny' thing is that when I turned my laptop back on, as I did twice after installing the new memory, I had to manually set the date/time. It went back to 1969!! and twice it did. Is this some sort of 'back in time' memory syndrom or what? I rarely turn off my laptop (normally I let it sleep) so I can live with it, as long as it's not affecting anything else.
