Can the built-in spell checker dictionary be changed?

Having the Safari spell check turned on is great. But is there an alternative dictionary that I can use? I want to check for UK English.

If there is another dictionary, where is it and is changing just drag and drop?

Can you use more than one dictionary (like Eudora) so that you can check for English, French and German?

The dictionary files for Dictionary are located at /Library/Dictionaries. If you want to add a language, you need to find a .dict file for it to add there. I don't know where you can find those kind of files.. but if you find one, it should work. You just might need to enable the language in the dictionary app, but other than that it should work.

How can I do this? Thanks in advance.
For me, (don't know if this applies to other versions of OS X), right/control click a text-area, go to the spelling menu, then select "check spelling as you type"

Thanks, eric2006.

I would rather suggest using WhiteSmoke, which gives you instant grammar check in whichever application you are just at a press of F2.

The good thing about it is it works in my safari and mail and word and all other places where I type, just by pressing F2!
Can't be better.
