I am running off of an airport card from my other Mac in the room beside me.
This is not a base station, just a card.
This computer allows people to connect to it to play games because it is directly plugged into the modem, but my computer which is receiving the wireless access cannot.
I have read on some websites that I need to open ports, and I have tirelessly looked through countless utilities but I have not found any place where I can open the required ports. Is there any way to open ports on a macintosh, or is that just a windows thing?
I have also turned off the firewall and also added allowed ports in the firewall section on both macs and then turned the firewall on, but still no results. I understand that if you do not have a basestation you will need to use some unix commands in the terminal to open the ports. Can anyone help me?
