Custom Dictionary
Entourage Preferences
Excel Settings (9)
Word Settings (9)
Word Font Substitutes
Proofing Tool Preferences
PowerPoint Settings (9)
PDFMaker
Office Registration Cache 2001
Office Font Cache (9)
Office 2001 First Run Cache
MS Office ACL [German]
MS Office ACL [French]
MS Office ACL [English]
MS Office ACL [Dutch]
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Office Settings (9)
Microsoft Excel

I am not familiar with OS9. In macosx there are plist-files in the System/Preferences folder. Try if you can find a file that looks like this: com.microsoft.word.plist or similar. But as I said, this is how it works with macosx. Not sure about OS9...

I missed the OS 9 part, I think those are stored in a folder called Preferences in the root level of your home folder. Trying looking for something that would be related to Word, move it somewhere else temporarily, and try printing again. If that works, delete the file you moved, otherwise move it back.

Like I suggested earlier, you might also want to try making a new user and testing the printing in Word there.

he is using OS 9.

in the system folder in preferences there is a microsoft folder.

Toss the whole thing. You can safely toss any file in the preferences folder, even the whole folder itself and it will be recreated next time you start up or launch any program. If you have a lot of custom settings in your programs, you may have to reset them. (so best to be specific and just toss the microsoft preferences)
