Cannot select a forward or backward song

I have a G5 Power Mac. I am running Version 10.4.11 of Tiger, with the
latest I Tune's 7.6.2. Since upgrading to this version, I can be playing a song, and when it finishes, and I try to select a song up or down the list,
I get the old spinning beach ball. I have to force quit I Tunes. And, I get
the same results, when I start over.

Do you organise your music yourself or have you allowed iTunes this task? Where is your iTunes library stored? What if you don't try to select a song, will iTunes keep on playing song after song?
