Clean install, then upgraded to 10.5.1, and account or computer are not bound to AD.

It comes with the connection dialog, but from there it fails. As it's a local account, it will no accept the one with domain name\username format. With local account, just username or ip\username or any combination does not work with it. Share is set up properly from system preferences. Share, username, pathname, or password don't contain any hyphens or other than alphanumeric characters.
This worked with the same account settings before switching to 10.5.
