Can't open .dmg file on mac osx? Tor?

I've tried to download bitcoin and tor, both times DiskUtility says that the file cannot be recognized when I just normally click it to run it, and to check my settings. When I try to manually open a .dmg file using DiskUtility it says the disk image cannot be attached and the file is not recognized.

You can't get blood out of a turnip and you can't force a damaged or poorly created disc image file to open. The only solution is to redownload the file. If it works, then it works. If it doesn't, then look for another source for the download or just wait until the broken file is fixed.
