Heys, I have a MacBook OS X with Tiger software on it. When I first got it I had absolutely no problem with Photo Booth and it worked perfectly, then when I installed Leopard onto my laptop, we realised that it wasn't compatible with the pen pressure system on my wacom tablet. We had to archive all my files, and re-install tiger. We thought everything was fine, until I tried to open Photo Booth and all it did was jump once and nothing ever comes up, no error code, nothing. Although when I go to it in applications it says it was last opened the moment I clicked on it, yet there's no little arrow under it saying it's opened, nor has anything come up. My uncle, who's owned Macs for years, told me to put in the installation discs, and re install the software, which is what I did, but still Photo Booth does the same. I looked on my previous system today, thinking maybe the old Photo booth will open, and this new one's just a bit dodgy, but when i looked it wasn't on my old system, neither was idvd, itunes, garageband, iweb, imovie or iphoto. idvd is the only other one displaying symptoms similar to Photo Booth, although when I put a dvd into my computer it plays it fine, but I have to put it in for it to work rather than being able to open idvd, or even if i close the lid continue, I have to eject the disc and put it back in again for it to play.
Not sure if anyone can help me, but it would be nice for these things to work again. I'd personally prefer not to have reset the computer back to it's factory settings once more, as it's a pain to put everyhting back where it once was. Although if that seems the only way around it, so be it.
