can't update

i was having lots of programs crash in 10.2.8 so i erased and reinstalled 10.2 i am trying to update it to 10.2.8 but the updater crashed half way through. i downloaded the file and when i try to install it it quits after i put in my admin password. what can i do?
i have a g4 867 (quicksilver)

Try downloading it again you might have a corrupt file

i did that. and each time i run it it says program has unexpectedly quit.
i dl'd the 10.2.8 combo update for osx.2. this is a fresh install of osx.2....nothing else is on there. i try and use software update and when i click check now it too tries to load and then says an uexpected error has occured. please help.

Have you run Disk Utility from the oS CD or fsck or any other utility on the drive?

yea i ran disk utility.
i ended up reinstalling 10.2 i downloaded the 10.2.8 combo update again and tried running it. it worked. now im just doinng my other updates now. software update loads now.
